Lydia apparently is entering a very dramatic stage of her development. This is her yesterday –
. She flung herself on the stairs in utter despair. The issue? Her ponytail was not ballerina perfect. And tonight after being tucked in, this child came out of her room SOBBING.Sobbing like there’s no tomorrow. I couldn’t understand what she was saying, but I was quite positive she had dozed off and had a horrible nightmare or had crashed out of her bed or SOMETHING. Finally I get the sobs quieted enough to understand the root of her despair – Her toy puppy named “Lovely” was bored of the bed Lydia had made for her! Oh the anguish.
Oh goodness! She and R do share a lot of commonalities then.
Yesterday he was whacking the dog with a drumstick (like actually trying to get a beat or something? It must not have been v. hard b/c the dog just laid there for it), and I said, “Would you like it if I hit you with the stick?” Apparently he thought I was GOING to hit him with the stick (which makes you wonder how great a parent I’ve been), and ran off to his room sobbing and sobbing.
Who has the patience for all this?
Cute picture – lol – and great stories.
Well, who doesn’t sob when their ponytail isn’t ballerina perfect! I mean, c’mon.
