MONSTER update

I haven’t offered a real update in a while (except for Allison’s birthday). Sorry about that. Here is the condensed version, in a nutshell….

Eric has moved into his new position at work (I mentioned his promotion a few updates ago)…a bit more money, a bigger office, a larger staff, and he is now managing a whole department vs supervising part of a department. He is still going through some transistion stuff, but thinks it will be good once he is settled in.

Jess’s scholing has been decided (for now at least)….she is going to remain at JCOS, but only go to school two times a week, and do the rest here at home. She plans on taking some college courses during that time at Front Range Community College. She can’t enroll there until she is 16 though, so for the first half of the school year, she will do homeschooling on those days that she is home. Her last day of school is in a few weeks.

We had a really good Easter. The kids (Meredith included) all got into dying the Easter eggs, and Easter morning was a hoot with the egg hunt. Allison was very sweet, putting many of her finds into Meredith’s basket. Meredith didn’t find as much because after every find she made, she wanted to sit and enjoy it. Then I made a lovely dinner, just for our little clan. It was nice and peaceful.

Allison’s birthday party was yesterday. It was a lot of fun and Allison had a great time.

Business is still good at Butler Indexing. I have a few days off right now, but have three projects coming up. So I am resting now, as the rest of May is going to be BEYOND busy!

What else???? ERGH…I know I had more to say. If I remember anything else later, I will post again.

Allison’s birthday party

Let’s get this party started!!!

These people should be cleaning!

Now its a party. Wait a minute….is that a BOA Benjamin is wearing??

Ring around the Rosie…..

And they all fall DOWN

For your information, this bowl of chips was the only thing that we didn’t have leftovers from!

According to Meredith, it is time to eat cake! NOW!

Here come da cake, here come da cake –

An example of one of the only downsides of a digial camera. The durn thing wasn’t ready to take a picture of the actual blowing out of the candles! So here ya go, the self-satisfied image of a child who did in fact blow out the candles (in three tries)…I promise!

And finally, Let them eat cake!!

Presents –

The whole crew –

Giving the birthday girl a kiss, ahhhh –

And it wouldn’t be a party unless Jess started a wrestling match with all the kids -

Katrina gets conned into the dubious honor of untangling the balloons –

And finally, Eric, the morning after –

Jess has a can of soup (ok, need more explanation? Jess was trying to open one of those easy pop soup cans, and had a little, ahem, accident. All I have to say is, THANK GOODNESS the camera was nearby!

This is how Jess wanted to get her hair cut -

Allison’s birthday

Hi All,

Four years ago today, I gave birth to the amazing Allison. I simply cannot believe that it has been four years.

Today was rather low-keyed, as she is having a party on Saturday. I fixed my birthday girl some baked oatmeal for breakfast (yum), we took a walk and had a picnic for lunch, with the birthday girl riding her bike the entire walk! And then for dinner we went to Red Robin (she wanted a burger). You should have seen her face when the wait-staff was singing her a birthday song. I just wouldn’t even know how to describe it. She was so surprised, and maybe a bit embarrased, but so pleased…it was such a *FACE*! With so many emotions going on there. I wish I’d had my camera. After dinner we returned home and she opened her gifts. We played a game that she got real quick, got into our jammies and read two of her new books. Overall, I think that she had a pretty ok birthday. I will post another update after her party on Saturday. Oh, and I am behind on other updates (like Easter)…soon, kay?
