well today is the day that I have been dreading

Meredith, my monkey baby. My ever curious one, my very persistent, stubborn child. The one child I have that refuses to be redirected……did something today that I knew was coming. I have been dreading this day for a long time….

She figured out how to climb on the dining room table…and now every waking minute is spent pursuing this activity. Every time I turn around, there she is. I take away the picnic table that she has been using as a ladder…what does she do? Find a toy that enables her to climb on a dining room chair and then onto the table. She is very clever and resourceful.

Any chance that while she sleeps, she will forget all about this new found pleasure?

moved in

Well we moved this past weekend. Still have a LOT of work to do, but we are settling in as best as we can. The kids are enjoying unpacking their toys, and I am dividing my time between cleaning up after them and unpacking my own toys.

We LOVE the new house. It is wonderful. It really is. It is big and open and spacious and really has everything that I would want in a house. When things settle down a wee bit (and begin to look presentable), I will post some pictures on the other site.

Few glitches. There is no bus service out here. I had read somewhere that Jess could use Call-N-Ride to get to the Park-N-Ride (all parts of RTD) so she could get to school, but now that we are out here, we learn that Call-N-Ride doesn’t come to this area. Ergh. So we will drive her to and from a park-n-ride. A bit of an inconvience, but doable. I did suggest to her that she could go to the local school, and thus meet some friends that live in this area, etc. She wasn’t thrilled with the idea, as she really loves her school….it sure would be easier though, and would have its benefits, and it is a pretty good school as well. Just not as alternative as JCOS is. And JCOS, in my opinion is more in line with the kind of education I would like to see Jess get, if she takes advantage of it. Just wanted to present the local school as an option.

Nothing much else to post. Just wanted to let my faithful readers know that we are alive and well.

Deck the halls with lots of vomit

fa la la la la la la la la la

Yup. That is how we spent Christmas. Meredith threw up Christmas Eve around 4PM, and continued along that path for many more days. Christmas was spent with Eric and I being exhausted and dealing with a sick kid. Jess and Allison went ahead and went to the Christmas dinner at my aunt’s house. It was really weird and sad for me having us separated on Christmas, but they would have had a lousy time at home with us. We didn’t have anything planned for dinner, and we were dealing with Meredith all day.

Meredith just started feeling better a couple of days ago, and here we are on New Year’s Day and guess what? Allison has it now! She threw up around 4AM on New Year’s Eve, and still feels lousy. She doesn’t seem as sick as Meredith was. In fact, she hasn’t thrown up at all today but you can tell that she still doesn’t feel too good. A slight funny, but a yucky funny….New Year’s Eve….it is almost midnight, we are all in the bedroom watching the ball drop. Meredith and Allison are asleep…midnight hits, we whisper “Happy New Year!” so as not to wake any sleeping children…12:01, Allison starts throwing up everywhere. I wonder what that will mean for the upcoming new year!
