Turkey day, etc.

Hey all, I know that I haven’t updated in a long time. But really, it isn’t as though anyone reads this, right? :-)

Anyway, tomorrow is Thanksgiving. We are hosting this year. Should be very interesting. I am trying to do much of the stuff today, so that I don’t feel too overwhelmed and stressed tomorrow. So far so good. I’ll let you all know.

What else? I’ve been very busy indexing, and will continue to be this busy until late Dec. That is why my updates have been neglected. Also, I know that I need to post some pictures on the other blog but to be honest, I haven’t even LOOKED at the pictures I took in OK! One of these days I’ll catch up….but probably not any time soon.

Jess had her play performance last week. She was Maid Marion in Robin Hood. It was a really good performance. She is a very good actress. I have pictures from that as well, and will post them as soon as I can get around to it.

Well I can’t think of anything else at the moment. Guess I should get back to the Thanksgiving prep stuff. Still have to finish a green bean/salmon salad and get the mashed potatoes done….that will leave about four things for tomorrow. Very doable.

I hope that everyone has a great holiday!

Jessica in Robin Hood

She was Maid Marion! And did an excellent job, if I do say so myself.

a week of teeth and other stuff

Busy week in Meredith’s mouth. On Monday she popped tooth number 6, on Wed, tooth number 7 made an appearance, and just yesterday tooth number 8 showed up for the party. Maybe we’ll have a break for a while. She had been chewing on her hands non-stop for a while now!

In other news, Allison, Meredith and I have been sick this week. We came back from OK with some form of the crud. I told my sister that her new baby is a germ bucket, carrying all sorts of diseases. :-) Teasing can be fun.

The trip to OK was (as my dad keeps saying) one of a kind. I enjoyed seeing the family, and my new nephew is ALMOST as cute as one of my babies. He sure is sweet. Meredith seemed to think that he was a big baby doll. She kept sticking her fingers in his mouth and eyes. Allison had a great time playing with all of her cousins. Her and Tristen remembered each other immediately and she also had no trouble jumping into playland with Kyla, Marissa and Corrine. The cutest was when Allison, Marissa and Corrine were playing little red riding hood, and they kept taking turns being the wolf, the grandma, and little Red Riding Hood. Very sweet indeed.

Halloween was fun. Allison’s fairy costume was very cute, and I did a very good job with it, if I do say so myself. One problem we encountered was that the satin dress was so slippery, and of course my three year old daughter doesn’t have any hips, so the flouncy skirt kept slipping down. We had to safety pin it to her shirt under the dress and that seemed to work ok. Meredith was a cute ladybug. We went to my sister’s church, and they made the rounds there. It was nice and warm, not too crowded, everyone was nice, and they got a nice mixture of candy and little toys. Overall it was a nice Halloween.

The drive itself was alright. Overall the kids did ok. We had to make several stops for diapers, and one stop for vomit. It was fun caravanning with my grandparents. We got to enjoy their company at meal breaks and over the walkie-talkies.

That’s all here. Apparently I told the kids that they could have a bubble bath after breakfast, and they are holding me to that. Gotta run!
