Misc stuff

OK, haven’t posted in a while. I see that Jessica is carrying on the torch. Not too much going on around here. It is snowing today. Allison, Meredith and I just came in from playing. I will post some pictures on the photo album blog here in a bit.

Everyone is feeling better, with one exception. ME! Yup, just as I predicted. They all get healthy and I am now sickly. Ergh. We are going to OK tomorrow. I hope I feel a bit better by then, but considering how long everyone else was sick, I am not too hopefull.

I finished Allison’s Halloween costume. It is so pretty. It is a bit big on her, but she should get two years out of it. She loves it. When I get pictures, I will also post those as well. She is looking forward to spending Halloween with her cousin Tristen in Oklahoma.

Maybe I’ll post an update from Oklahoma. Until then, keep us in your thoughts as we attempt an 11-12 hour car trip with very young children and without Eric.

YO

So we are going to Oklahoma in 6 days!! As soon as I wrote that my stomach did a major flop! I get to see my best freind and my cousin!! I am SO nervous about seeing him! I mean I haven’t seen him in like 8 yrs. or so. UGHHHH Timothy if you are reading this: Please be like you used to (I know that this is VERY far-fetched as everyone changes no matter, what if he expects me to be the same than HA!!)
Well I think I am going to post 2 poems now!

This first one is called Wait

The clock ticks one second at a time
Why am I her? I think
I sit solemnly at the end of the row
There’s some old guy sitting to the right of me looking at his shoe in a trance.
A lady is looking at her fingers as if she is falling in love with them.
I hear the soft cry of a baby,
shh shh says the child’s mother and gently rocks it back and forth.
I don’t know what to think,
what to do,
I am lost hopelessly in my own world
I hear my name called
I exit still in a trance

it’s over the waiting is over.

DONE
Okay this one doesn’t have a name so maybe whoever comes up with a name get’s……umm my love and affection forever!!

Heart pounds,
sweat trickles down my neck,
He’s not going to do it,
He doesn’t have the guts.
Will I ever be noticed by him?
I love him yet he doesn’t know this.
He is lost in his own world,
thinking about skateboards, or gils, not me.
He’s there and I’m here.
Come over here.
Does he hear me?
Can he dig deep, deep into my soul and find my deepest thoughts?
He laughs with his friends.
It was one of those moments where I see him yet he sees only himself,
friends,
and
skateboards

Thank you for reading my poems!
Jessica

house of ailment

Eric stayed home from work sick today. Allison missed her art class this morning because she wasn’t feeling good. Meredith woke up several times last night coughing. Everyone is ill except Jessica and me. Meredith and Allison have been all stuffed up for about a week. The coughing is new, starting a day or two ago. Eric felt bad all weekend. I just hope that I stay healthy! I can’t take a day off of work to heal and get better.

Nothing much else going on. Turned in my index today. No more projects in the immediate future, although I am hoping that I’ll have one in early November. Got everything cut out for Allison’s Halloween costume. It is going to be very pretty I think. And the cool thing is that the wings and the skirt are removable, so she can wear the dress alone. It is going to be such a pretty satiny green dress, it would be a shame if it were only going to be worn on Halloween. Let’s just hope I don’t mess it up when I start to sew it, I already found one instruction on the pattern which is confusing to me. Hopefully I can wing it. The dress itself is pretty similar to a dress I made Meredith a couple of months ago, so it seems rather familiar. The wings seem easy enough…the flouncy skirt is going to be different, but doesn’t look too difficult. Maybe the cutting was the hardest part! The flouncy skirt alone had 18 peices of mesh to cut. Mesh isn’t always the easiest thing to cut. It is almost invisible, and I kept catching the scissors in it where I didn’t want to cut. Oh well. I am done now.

There’s my dinner buzzer. More later.

misc stuff

Just a quick note. I got a notification box set up, so if you’d like to get on the list for when I send out notices, just put your email address there! I won’t be sending out notices with every post, just when I have something interesting to say….or I haven’t sent out a notice in a while. Actually the main purpose of this post is to test the notifications! Keep your fingers crossed.

Other than that, today has been pretty boring.. Meredith caught Allison’s cold, so both the girls are sniffly. They have been playing a lot today though, so rather than doing something productive, I have been on the computer more than usual. Oh well. Its been a long time since I got to play on the computer. Usually I just check my email, only reply to the really pressing ones, and rush off. Its so great to see Meredith and Allison playing so well together. Sometimes Allison gets a bit bossy or frustrated when Meredith doesn’t play at the same level she plays at, but overall they really enjoy each other. They are going to be great friends, I think!

dr visit

Hi all, just got back from the kid’s dr. exam. Both are doing fine. Allison weighs 31lbs and is 3ft 2in tall. Meredith weighs 19.2lbs (so much for facing forwards in the car, huh?) and is 32in tall. According to the charts (for what they are worth), Allison is 50% in height, and 50% in weight. Meredith is 50% in height, but only 12% in weight. Meredith is developing perfectly. They tested her hemoglobin and she is fine there (no anemia). She cried a bit during the heel prick, but was fine afterwards and just wanted to play with her band-aid. Allison is pretty much ok. The dr shares my concerns regarding her speech development, so she is going to be going to a speech pathologist to have some tests done. He doesn’t think that she has any developmental delays or anything like that. She has very intelligent things to say…just has a hard time saying them. So look for updates on that as well. Also Allison is a bit flat-footed on her left foot, but no major concerns there either. We went ahead and had Allison immunized for tetnus. We had been delaying shoots, and will probably not do all the shots, but from what I read, the tetnus shot carries very little risk, and tetnus is a very scary thing to deal with, so I feel very good about choosing to have this immunization. Allison was so brave about getting her shot. She cried right when it happened but was fine afterwards and has been talking about it non-stop ever since then. Did you know that Blue, from Blue’s Clues got a shot once? And she didn’t cry at all! On the way home, Allison was talking about how it hurt, and I told her that she was so brave…her reply was, “Yup, and I’m still pretty!”. I guess that was a concern of hers. :-)

Busy stuff!

Wow, Jess has been busy with this blog, huh? She’s such a good writer, she should have a lot to contribute here. But I guess if I want my voice to be heard at all, I need to keep up somewhat!

Nothing much going on today. Allison has a cold. Poor little girl. Seems like we just got over our last cold around here. She is getting so frustrated at the presence of her sniffles. She wants me to make them stop. I wish I could. I don’t know where she got this cold. No one else is sick, and lets hope it stays that way!

I am taking Allison and Meredith to the doctor tomorrow. Just a check-up, nothing major. I’m anxious to see what Meredith weighs. We are going to OK in about two weeks, and if she weighs enough, I would like to have her sit in the built in carseat of our van. I think that would be fun for her, she will be sitting next to her sister like a big girl, and maybe make the trip a bit easier. But we will see! Since she’s over a year old, she meets the age requirements. We are looking for her to weigh about 22lbs, I think. I think that the law requires them to weigh 20lbs before they can be turned forward facing, but the manual of my van says 22lbs for these seats.

Nothing much else to report. I finished marking my index last night. Now to get on to the data entry portion of the job. I hope to be finished with the entire thing by this weekend. No other projects on the works, although I am sort of expecting one or two early in November. I hope that they materialize. I sort of got used to having steady work! I am doing a marketing thing right now, so maybe I can get some new clients in soon. My main client wants me to lower my rates, so I think that is why my projects are slowing right now. They are going to cheaper indexers. Oh well. Sometimes you get what you pay for!

Oh, and I am going to start a sewing project. I am going to attempt to create a Halloween costume for Allison. She is going to be a fairy! We are going to go pick out the material today. I would make a matching fairy costume for Meredith but she fits into Allison’s old LadyBug costume and looks so cute. Plus I don’t think that I have enough time to create two costumes. Maybe next year I will make them matching costumes. I always wanted to make Jess’s costumes, but not knowing how to sew, and not having a sewing machine sort of interfered with that goal. Now she is old enough to make her own costumes, should she choose to dress up. I don’t think that she is going to dress up this year….maybe just color her hair with a temporary hair dye. I don’t know why she’d want to do that because her hair is such a beautiful color (or should I say colors), but she does. She has the hair color that many women try to find when they color their hair. But she wants to see how she looks with different colored hair, and I guess I can understand that somewhat.

Well gotta run. Allison’s nose is bothering her, and Meredith smells funny.

Hey

Well I do think that I am doing a very good job of keeping this all up. Today I went back to school and it was just as fun as always. No seriously!!! Oh well. I am pretty bored right now. In a minute I have to go upstairs and sort the kids clothes so I can pay off the debt I owe my mom. I am well aware that I shouldn’t borrow money but when a bed-in-a-bag set is regularly 60 dollars and it is marked down to 30$ I have to get it. Although my mom said that she just went back to target and saw that they were now on sale for 12$!!! UGHHHHH So I owe my mom 91$ Because I also had to pay for my phone bill as well. Oh well. At least I have a nice mom to actually loan me some money because others moms are like save your money (needless to say my mom still does that but this was a special day!) Of course she probably said yes because she didn’t want me to make a big stink in the store. My argument: But I always wanted them and now they are on sale!!! So I guess that me for you!! Well this time writing was well spent and my boredom has been cured for a few minutes it’s just that I have to go!!! I have go slave over the stove and cook dinner!!! (frozen pizza’s so I really won’t be slaving, I don’t have to I offered to!!)

LUV YA (whoever you are)
Jessica
